Ghanaian international midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi played a pivotal role in helping Ekenäs IF achieve a momentous feat, securing promotion to the Finnish Premier League for the first time in 90 years.

The former Black Stars midfielder, with a significant career in Scandinavia, has been a driving force in his team's return to the top-flight after an extended absence.

Adu Kofi, 33, joined Ekenäs IF in March 2023 following his tenure with Swedish side Mjallby AIF in the previous season.

Serving as the captain of the club, he made 22 appearances in the Finnish second-tier, contributing with an assist that played a crucial part in securing the historic qualification to the top-tier league.

The Ghanaian midfielder, who began his career with Liberty Professionals in Ghana, ventured abroad after a stint with Nice in France.

Adu Kofi then made a significant impact in Scandinavia, featuring for clubs such as FC Nordjaelland, Club Brugge, Stabæk, Malmö FF, AIK, and others.

Ekenäs IF marks the sixth club in Scandinavia for Enoch Adu Kofi, showcasing his versatility and experience in the region.

Currently under contract with Ekenäs IF, his tenure with the Finnish club is expected to conclude in December 2023.
