The youth and women within communities under the Adansi North District have been cautioned against engaging in activities that could plunge the country into chaos after the 2024 elections.

Ghana has had a peaceful general election that was held on December 7,2024. The election was peaceful except few areas that recorded some unfortunate happenings. However, the aftermath of the elections has recorded some happenings which has marred the peaceful post elections expectation.

It is for this reason that an event sponsored by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has cautioned the most vulnerable in the society which includes women and youth to desist from all forms of acts that could destroy the peace within the country.

Speaking to the participants, the Adansi North District Director for the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Linda Agyenim Boateng, shared some worrisome happenings in countries like Liberia and some others.

She indicated civil war is one of the deadliest and ought to be taken seriously by way of shunning anything that could derail the peace of the country.

Speaking to participants, she said peace is all a country needs and when it is toiled with, the country could be destroyed.

Meanwhile, an ex officio of the Adansi North District, Hon. Kusi Obodum Fiakyei Adade urged all participants to cherish democracy, live in peace and stop any form of violence engagements.

Advising the youth, he said, "certain acts like alcoholism, smoking, etc. could make one do the unexpected and therefore care must be taken when going into such acts."

He added, "no youth must allow him or herself to be used by any political party for any violent activity."

To women, he said women are one of the most vulnerable in society which ought to be protected and as such women should play roles that would encourage peace.

Participants were happy and called for more of such programs as they deemed the event a very educative one.
