Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), clarified that the party’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) is not a witch-hunt, but a targeted effort to retrieve state resources unlawfully acquired by individuals during or after government service.
In an interview, Gbande emphasized the party's commitment to holding corrupt officials accountable, even suggesting that stripping President Akufo-Addo of his immunity might be necessary for this purpose.
He warned that no one implicated in corruption would be allowed to leave the country, mentioning the search for Wontumi, a political figure.
Gbande concluded by stating that Ghanaians are eager for ORAL's success, prioritizing the recovery of looted funds over new projects.
