Antoine Semenyo says the atmosphere inside Manchester City has helped him settle quickly after another standout performance, as the Ghanaian forward continued his impressive start with a Man of the Match display against Newcastle United.

Semenyo scored the opening goal in City’s 2-0 win at St James’ Park in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, capping a night in which his pace, work rate and composure troubled Newcastle throughout.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, the 26-year-old highlighted the role of the dressing room in easing his transition from Bounmouth to city.

“The whole environment at Man City is perfect,” Semenyo said. “Everyone is confident and wanting to achieve the best. I’ve just come into that and they’ve helped me with my confidence and made me feel welcome.”

Since arriving at the Etihad, Semenyo has wasted little time making an impression. He has now scored in successive cup matches and collected Man of the Match honours in both, underlining his rapid adaptation to Pep Guardiola’s demanding system.

Against Newcastle, his influence went beyond the goal. Semenyo pressed from the front, stretched the defence and linked play intelligently, providing City with a constant attacking threat on a difficult away night.

His seamless integration has not gone unnoticed within the squad, with teammates praising both his attitude and willingness to play for the team.

For Semenyo, the early success is a reflection of the culture he has stepped into. Surrounded by experienced winners and a clear footballing identity, he appears to be thriving in an environment built on confidence and collective ambition.

As City look to finish the job in the second leg and push for silverware on multiple fronts, Semenyo’s words and performances suggest a player growing rapidly in belief, feeling at home, and ready to seize his moment on one of football’s biggest stages.
