Ex-Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffo starts coaching internship with the team

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffo has rejoined the Porcupine Warriors, this time in a different capacity, as part of his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Coaching (Football) at the University of Education, Winneba.

• Akuffo is undertaking a practical attachment with Kotoko, supervising warm-up and cool-down sessions at the Adako Jachie Training Ground.


• He is expected to spend several weeks with the club as he continues his degree programme.


• The move reflects his transition from player to coach, following his retirement in 2021 after leaving King Faisal.

• Spent seven successful years with Kotoko, earning a reputation as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Ghana Premier League.
