Former Ghana under-17 World cup winner Awudu Issaka has called for Black Stars coach Avram to be immediately axed from his position as head coach of the senior national team.

Speaking on Ashh FM's "Super Sports" show, Awudu who won the World Cup for Ghana's  under-17 side in 1995 stated emphatically that the Israeli coach should be replaced with Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Michael Osei.

Awudu Issaka who played in the Porcupine junior ranks before plying his trade in Europe claimed that he does not see the relevance in maintaining Grant as Black Stars coach insisting the Kotoko manager could do a far better job than the under fire Black Stars manager.

"The job should be given to Michael Osei because he has coached in Europe, he is a former footballer and he is currently making a mark with Kotoko. That is not a bad record" he stated

"Even if Avram Grant is sacked today and replaced with Michael Osei he will be able to do far better than what Grant is doing" he added

The former Anderlecht player who is popularly known as "the disco dancer" also made a case for certain local coaches in Ghana citing former Kotoko coach Didi Dramani as one of such coaches who are capable of manning the senior national team.

"There are certain coaches here in Ghana who can ideally manage the Black Stars team and one of such coaches is Didi Dramani" a charged Awudu Issaka stated.

The performance of the Black Stars team has been put under the microscope in recent times especially after the team's goalless draw in World Cup qualifier against the Cranes of Uganda at the Tamale Sports stadium.

Some bookmakers in Ghana however alluded the outcome of the match to the ongoing feud between the Ghana Football Association and the Sports Ministry while others have chastised  the Israeli tactician for the result which they assert was Ghana's for the taking.

Awudu who also played for Dansoman based club Liberty Professionals was of the view that Ghana's football is drastically dwindling.

"We are all in this country and if truth be told Ghana's football situation is sinking very fast. We always say this but we are not listened to" he lamented.

"Infact it is very bad and we are even fed up. If you look at what is going on now you realise the situation is completely bad."

He advised the countries football authorities to look to certain Ghanaian stalwart managers such as Coach Addo for advice on how to manage the team since they are immensely rich in experience and football knowledge instead of relegating them to the background as is often the case.

"They are out of the system but their pieces of advice will come in handy but they are mute because even if they speak nobody listens to them. A coach like Coach Addo is very skilled but his pieces of advice are left unearthed."

Awudu Issaka is currently the Director-General of Royal Awudu Issaka Soccer Academy (RAISA), a football academy he founded in 2011
