Ibrahim Osman, a former striker for Asante Kotoko, has made shocking claims that the club's former CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah, obstructed his efforts to seek assistance.

The 24-year-old revealed that he returned to Asante Kotoko in August 2022 after a loan stint with King Faisal, nursing an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Osman, whose contract with the Porcupine Warriors expired in June 2023, revealed that he has been grappling with the ACL injury for over a year and is currently without a club.

He explained that there were discussions between the medical teams of Asante Kotoko and King Faisal before he underwent an MRI scan, which confirmed the ACL injury.

"I reached out to Nana Yaw Amponsah after receiving the results, informing him of the situation. He mentioned that the club was preparing for pre-season in Sudan and would address it upon their return," Osman told Sahara Football.

"When they returned, I reminded him of the situation and urged him to involve the club to assist me. However, he mentioned that he was under 'pressure' and didn't provide any explanation when I contacted him. Eventually, he blocked me."

Ibrahim Osman added, "Everyone at the club (Asante Kotoko) is aware of my situation, including Emmanuel Dasoberi and others. They decided not to offer any help, and I don't know why."

"To be honest, I'm in dire need of assistance because I have no one. People believe I've traveled out of the country, but I'm at home. I haven't gone anywhere."

In what has been a Ghana football me too moment where the poor player welfare is coming to bare after the demise of former Legon Cities goalie Sylvester Sackey and the ill-health of another Legon Cities goalkeeper William Essu  who is currently soliciting for support.

The 24-year-old striker has also joined the chorus of players seeking support as his career is in jeopardy with his current injuy.
