Italian giants Sampdoria have joined the race to sign Swansea winger Andre Ayew, Ghanaguardian.com can reveal.

Blucerchiati are keen to get a loan deal over the line before the European transfer window closes.

However, they face stiff competition from Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen who are also planning a swoop for the Ghana captain.

The Swans can no longer afford Ayew following relegation from the Premier League - and boss Steve Cooper has made it clear he is not part of his long term plans.

Ayew is in his second spell at the Liberty Stadium, having rejoined them from West Ham in January 2018 in a deal worth up to £20m.
