Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen are keen on signing want-away Swansea City attacker Andre Ayew before the transfer window closes.

According to reports in England, the River Islanders have submitted a formal inquiry to the Welsh-club about a potential transfer.

Ayew is contracted to the English Championship side until June 2021

He spent last season on loan at Turkish giants Fenerbahçe where he scored score five goals across all competitions.

The Swans can no longer afford Ayew following relegation from the Premier League - and boss Steve Cooper has made it clear he is not part of his long term plans.

Ayew is in his second spell at the Liberty Stadium, having rejoined them from West Ham in January 2018 in a deal worth up to £20m.
