Experienced midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei will not make it to Zambia as he has been dropped from the Kotoko squad for their CAF Confederation Cup match against ZESCO United.

Coach CK Akunnor's 18 man squad announced on Tuesday for their last group C encounter has the former TP Mezembe midfielder's name conspicuously missing from the list making the  trip.

It is not yet known what might have influenced the decision to drop the 30-year-old, who was handed his debut against Al Hilal in last Sunday's 1-1 draw game at the BabaYara Stadium.

He was expected to bring his experience to bear as the Porcupine Warriors search for their first-ever Confederation Cup title.

But much has not been seen about the experience midfielder since his return to the Porcupine set up in October after cancelling his contract with Moroccan side Wydad AC.

And with the absence of some key players due to injury and suspension, the team find themselves at crossroads and must make the best out of the available feet to ensure qualification.

They will miss the services of their talisman Sogne Yacouba, who is suspended due to two yellow cards.

The 2004 Confederation Cup finalist are chasing their last chance of booking qualification as they travel to play the Zambians who are lying bottom with 4 points.

C.K Akunnor and his boys have their destiny in their own hands after they failed to beat the Hilal in Kumasi in their last home match

A win for the Porcupines takes them to 10 points, which is enough for their qualification regardless of what happens Al Hilal and Nkana FC in Sudan.
