The family of former Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah is preparing to pay its final respects to their departed son, whose death has left a significant void in the nation’s political and governance landscape.

The final funeral rites are slated for Saturday December 13 in Koforidua, where mourners from across the country are expected to converge at the Jackson Park to honour his life and legacy.

Dr. Omane Boamah, a medical doctor by training and Defence Minister met his untimely death in a military helicopter crash with seven others in early August on an official engagement to Obuasi in the Ashanti region. He died at the age of 49

Family sources reveal that the funeral arrangements have been carefully structured to reflect Dr. Omane Boamah’s values—discipline, humility, and service.

The ceremony is expected to draw an array of dignitaries, including President John Dramani Mahama, past and present government officials, technocrats, diplomats, and political actors who worked closely with him.
