Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku delivered another impressive performance for Leicester City, providing a crucial assist in their dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Southampton at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday.
Leicester looked to be heading for defeat as Southampton raced to a 2-0 lead, with Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo both scoring within the first 28 minutes.
Archer opened the scoring with a finish from Ryan Manning's cross, and Aribo followed up with a second from a Kyle Walker-Peters delivery, leaving the Foxes struggling to respond in the first half.
However, Leicester showed great resilience in the second half, with substitute Abdul Fatawu Issahaku playing a central role in their revival.
Introduced in the 59th minute, the Ghanaian winger immediately started causing problems for the Southampton defense.
His cross set up Facundo Buonanotte's close-range finish, cutting the deficit and reigniting Leicester's hopes.
Fatawu continued to torment Southampton, nearly scoring himself when his shot hit the crossbar and forcing a fine save from goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale with a powerful header moments later.
His relentless pressure ultimately led to a penalty when Ryan Fraser fouled Jamie Vardy in the box during a goalmouth scramble.
Vardy converted the spot-kick, and Fraser was sent off, leaving Southampton with 10 men.
In a thrilling climax, Jordan Ayew secured the win for Leicester in stoppage time, completing the comeback and sending the Foxes' travelling fans into celebration.
Fatawu, who recently returned from international duty with Ghana after their disappointing 2025 AFCON qualification campaign, has been a key player for Leicester this season.
Since joining the club from Portuguese side Sporting CP, he has contributed two assists in eight Premier League appearances.
His standout displays are helping Leicester maintain momentum as they continue their campaign.
Leicester City signed Fatawu on a long-term contract following his impressive stint in the Championship, where he registered six goals and 13 assists in 40 matches last season.
