A 58-year-old mason, Bledi, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for impregnating his 17-year-old daughter at Kwabenya in Accra.

The girl, who was living with her father, became pregnant after repeated sexually abuse.

The Incident

The victim gave birth at the Ga East Hospital and faced challenges with paying her medical bills.

The Social Welfare Department intervened, waiving her bills, and further enquiries led to the discovery of the father’s involvement.

The victim disclosed that her father was responsible for the pregnancy, leading to his arrest and subsequent sentencing.

The Court’s Decision

The court found Bledi guilty and sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment.
