In the early hours of Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Ghanaian socialite and businessman Nana Kojo Boateng, popularly known as Dada Joe Remix, was arrested in a covert operation led by Ghanaian authorities at the request of U.S. law enforcement.
The development was first reported by SelTheBomb (TSTB), which detailed the unexpected twist in what initially appeared to be a routine engagement with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
According to sources close to TSTB, Dada Joe Remix had voluntarily honoured an invitation to EOCO on Tuesday, May 27, following multiple previous visits related to undisclosed matters.
These prior meetings had ended without incident, with the socialite allowed to return home afterward.
“He had no reason to suspect anything unusual,” one insider told TSTB. “It seemed like another routine discussion—until it wasn’t.”
Upon arrival at EOCO, however, Dada Joe was detained—this time on behalf of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States, which has formally requested his extradition. He is reportedly under investigation for his alleged role in a romance fraud scheme targeting victims abroad.
Later that same morning, he was brought before a court in Accra, where extradition proceedings were initiated. The court subsequently remanded him into police custody.
While he is currently being held at a detention facility in Accra, sources suggest a transfer to Nsawam Prison may occur in the coming days. The extradition process is expected to conclude within 15 days, during which Dada Joe Remix will remain in custody as legal procedures continue.
