Ghanaian midfielder, Lawrence Agyekum has become the latest star in the news around the world after a stellar campaign in Belgium all-season, representing Cerlcle Brugge.

The 21-year-old midfielder came in on loan to Cercle Brugge last summer from his parent club, Red Bull Salzburg; a club with which he represented, signing a deal that sees him ply his trade with the Austrian top club till June 2026 as he penned down a deal in July 2022.

For a period of time, the flamboyant midfielder was meant to represent FC Leifering, a subsidiary of Red Bull Salzburg as he went in to assist them gain momentum in their ranks, playing in the UEFA Youth Championship also, as he still represented the parent club.

In May 2023, he won the Austrian Bundesliga title with Red Bull Salzburg along side Ghanaian teammate, Forson Amankwah as he had his first ever laurel in professional football.

Today, in the headlines of newspapers across Europe, the 21- year- old Ghanaian has been the subject of numerous media reports as it is revealed by European transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano that he has been on the radar of several top European clubs after a successful season with Cercle Brugge in the just ended season.

“Feyenoord are interested in Cercle Brugge 21 year old midfielder Lawrence Agyekum with several clubs also in the race.” Fabrizio Romano stated.

He added that the Unity Cup which had Ghana participating in will be another event for ther Premier League clubs to watch thr progress of the talented Ghanaian.

“After an important season, PL clubs and Strasbourg will also be in attendance this week at Unity Cup to follow Ghana player.”

Lawrence Agyekum, weeks ago signed a formal contract extension with Cercle Brugge which will be binding till 2029 after he helped them survive relegation. He played in 46 games, scored three goals and assisted twice in the just ended season for the Belgian outfit.

The Ghanaian star will be in line to have his second cap for the nation in the Unity Cup tournament in London after making his debut in the World Cup qualifiers in March against Chad in the 5-0 victory.
