If you still have not sent in your application for the Volunteer Programme for next year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, then this is your last chance. Time is running out to apply online as the application process will close overnight on 31 December to 1 January. Don’t miss out on the adventure of a lifetime!

The FIFA U-20 World Cup 2019 will see matches played in six Polish host cities: Lodz, Bielsko-Biala, Bydgoszcz, Gdynia, Lublin and Tychy. The tournament will start on 23 May and run until 15 June.

The Polish Football Association invites everyone who would like to be a part of this huge footballing event next year to register their interest in the Volunteer Programme. This is a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and see how a major tournament is organised, as well as a chance to make new friends, develop skills and gain valuable work experience. Successful applicants will be given essential training and will receive certificates confirming their participation and outlining the skills they have learned and the tasks they have carried out.

How does the recruitment process work? Each of the six host cities are responsible for recruitment. Applications can be made via the official FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland volunteer web page. You can also find more detailed information there, including a breakdown of the schedule, a description of what a volunteering position entails, along with the type of tasks you will be doing, as well as answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

In January and February 2019, those selected on the basis of their applications will be invited to the second stage of the selection process, which will be in the form of an interview. If you are based abroad, then the interview will be conducted remotely over the internet, using one of the many online chat applications. The final list of successful volunteers, along with the roles assigned to them, will be announced on 28 February 2019. Next, each of the host cities will hold training sessions to get volunteers ready for action.

Who can apply? Anybody who is aged 18 or over on 1 March 2019 is invited to take part in the volunteer programme. If you are somebody who is full of energy and has a passion for sport, loves dealing with people and facing new challenges, gets enjoyment out of helping others, has impeccable manners and approaches their work with real commitment, as well as being available during the tournament, then we cannot wait to hear from you.
