The family of late Ghanaian highlife legend, Dada Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada K.D., has announced a new date for his final funeral rites.
Initially scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, the state-assisted burial will now take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.
According to the family, the final burial and thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, September 7, at Agona Asamang in the Ashanti Region — the hometown of the late musician.
The rescheduling is believed to be in respect of the national mourning period declared following the tragic military helicopter crash in the Adansi District, which claimed eight lives, including key government officials.
The funeral is expected to draw dignitaries, fellow musicians, music industry stakeholders, and fans who wish to honour the late icon’s three-decade contribution to Ghanaian highlife music.
Dada K.D. passed away on May 17, 2025, after a short illness. His passing marks the end of an era for many Ghanaians who grew up with his timeless love songs and lyrical depth.
