Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at the Konongo-Odumase Fire Command have successfully rescued two victims trapped in a crash at Atwedie along the Accra–Kumasi highway.
According to the GNFS, the command received an emergency call about a collision between a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and a Honda tipper truck.

A rescue team led by LFM Siale Richard was swiftly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered that 17 victims had already been rescued by bystanders, but two passengers remained trapped inside the wreckage.
Using dashboard rolling and door removal techniques, the team managed to safely extricate the victims, who were then transported to the Steward Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, but investigations are ongoing.
The GNFS praised the teamwork between the rescue personnel and members of the public, highlighting that timely emergency reporting plays a crucial role in saving lives.
