Prominent figures within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) gathered to support party spokesperson Sammy Gyamfi during the one-week observance for his late father-in-law, Andrews Kwame Amankwah.
Among those present at the solemn ceremony were the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and the NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
The event drew a large crowd of party officials, government representatives, sympathisers and members of the public who came together to console the grieving family.
Mr. Amankwah’s death has sparked widespread sorrow within political circles after reports indicated he was killed during a robbery attack. The tragic circumstances surrounding his death have left relatives and supporters deeply shaken.
Mrs. Mahama led a delegation of government officials to the gathering, while Mr. Asiedu Nketiah arrived with members of the NDC’s national executive to offer their condolences and stand in solidarity with the family.
The ceremony served as a moment for party leaders and well-wishers to honour the memory of the deceased while expressing support for Mr. Gyamfi and his relatives during the difficult period.
