Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will chop off five players from his provisional 29-man squad for the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

A knee injury to St. Gallen defender Musah Nuhu has forced him to pull out from the squad which has decreased the number of players in camp to 28 players.

Coach Appiah is expected to drop some players today, to arrive at his 23-member squad for tourney, which starts from June 21 to July 9.

Ghana has been paired in Group F alongside defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau.

The four-time winners are seeking to end the country’s 37-year wait for a continental trophy.
