Incumbent Member of Parliament for the Ellembelle Constituency, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has won the Ellembelle NDC primaries by a landslide victory.

The Former Minister of Energy under the erstwhile Mahama administration polled 993 votes against his only competitor, Alleah Mieza-Mea who managed just 99 votes out of total vote cast of 1,095.

Mr Armah-Kofi Buah was given an overwhelming endorsement by the NDC delegates in the constituency as he seeks to represent Ellembelle for the fourth time in parliament.

Ellembelle was one of two constituencies in the Western Region that had the parliamentary primaries put on hold.

Primaries in other constituencies were put on hold for various reasons.

The party subsequently announced that four constituencies were to hold their primaries on Saturday, August 31, 2019.

They included Assin Central, Mfantsiman, Fanteakwa North and Ellembelle constituencies.

In the Ellembelle constituency, this was due to an unresolved petition against an aspirant, Mieza Mea Alleah.

Mr. Mea Alleah was accused of forging signatures on his nomination form.

But the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the party cleared him to contest.

In his victory speech, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah thanked the delegates for the high level of confidence reposed in him.

“This is my fourth time and once again the delegates have remained faithful. The delegates have made the right decision. I am greatly humbled by this overwhelming endorsement.”

He said, “our goal is one and that is to continue to make Ellembelle no-go area for the NPP”.
