Former Watford striker, Troy Deeney, has dived in on the Mohammed Kudus spectacular move to Tottenham Hotspurs, citing his confidence in the Ghanaian star to shine at the North London club.
Ghanain international Mohammed Kudus as announced in reports on Wednesday July 9 2025, is set to join the 2025 Europa League winners for a fee around £55m following an agreement between London clubs Tottenham Hotspurs and West Ham United.

Deeney, a legend of English football, having made over 600 appearances in his career, believes the former Right To Dream Academy graduate has the qualities to excel at Spurs and even put himself in a position for another big move.
"First of, I think it is a good price for West Ham and for Spurs. I think that is a good range for wingers. With his pace and power, he has the ability to kick on and go again and I think if he has one good season at Spurs, he goes again to a massive Champions League team," he told GhanaSoccernet in an exclusive interview in New Jersey, USA.
Kudus moved to West Ham in the summer of 2023 and immediately became a fan favourite, catching eyes of football enthusiasts and earning plaudits from them in huge fashion, as well as enjoying an outstanding first season, where he contributed with 20 goals— 14 goals and 6 assists across all competition.
However, his numbers dipped in the subsequent campaign, bieng the 2024/2025 season but Deeney feels if he can remain steadfast, he will be a great addition for Spurs, insisting football comes easy for the 24-year-old.
"He has all the potential, for me, it is about whether he can focus the brain with his feet. It looks like football is a bit too easy for him," he added.
The former Ajax star is expected to seal the imminent move to North London in the coming days, as he looks to commence a new chapter in his career in England.
