Former Minister of Foreign Affairs under the erstwhile Mahama administration, Madam Hanna Serwaa Tetteh has officially assumed office as the new Director-General of the UN Office at Nairobi, Kenya on Tuesday, 2 October 2018.

This comes after the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres made the announcement in May this year.

Ms Tetteh succeeds Ms Sahle-Work Zewde, who has been appointed as Special Representative to the African Union (AU) and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU).

She served as Minister for Trade and Industry from 2009 to 2013 under former President John Atta Mills and Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017 during President John Mahama's tenure.
A practising lawyer, she holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana.

She was also the Member of Parliament for the Awutu-Senya West constituency in the Central Region.
