Former Ghana International Otto Addo has been named as the assistant coach of German giants Borussia Dortmund following the sacking of head coach Lucien Favre after a dismal 5-1 drubbing at the hands of newly promoted Stuttgart on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund under Lucien Favre have been very inconsistent with the Swiss coach paying for their poor form with his job.

The embarrassing defeat means Dortmund are fifth in the Bundesliga five points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich who are tied on points with RB Leipzig.

Dortmund's point haul in their last five games has been disappointing as they have collected only 4 points out of a possible 15 points.

In contrast with their form in the domestic league, they have been impressive in the UEFA Champions League where they topped group F ahead of Lazio and will play against Sevilla in the round of 16 clash.

Assistant coach Edin Terzic has been appointed as the interim coach with Otto Addo and Sebastian Geppert as his assistant coaches.

The club confirmed this with a post on their twitter handle: “Assistant coach Edin Terzic has been appointed as interim manager until the end of the current season. Terzic’s coaching team will be joined by Sebastian Geppert and Otto Addo”.

Otto Addo a former player of Dortmund was appointed as a 'talent coach' last year and his role is to serve as

a link between the junior team and the senior teams.
