Former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Kofi Adams has won the Buem Constituency Parliamentary seat in the Oti Region.

He made light work of the New Patriotic Party's candidate Lawrence Kwame Aziale who polled 6,843 votes.

The other two candidates who contested the Parliamentary elections were Rev. Davids Kpuku Kwaku of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) and the People’s National Convention (PNC)’s Darko-Boateng Adams who together polled not more than 300 votes.

The NDC also won the Presidential elections in the constituency with the NDC garnering 29,858 votes while the ruling NPP polled 8,696 votes.

Ghana Union Movement(GUM)  polled 427 votes while the Convention People’s Party (CPP) had 30 votes with the Ghana Freedom Party also getting 15 votes while the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP) had 5 votes.

The other parties, National Democratic Party (NDP), Progressive People’s Party (PPP), LGP, PNC and APC had 18, 7, 10, 47 and 14 votes respectively.

The Independent Candidate, Asiedu Walker managed to win 31 votes.

A total, 39,249 valid votes were cast, while 731 votes were rejected.
