Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, has been arrested in the United States following an alleged domestic stabbing incident involving his wife.
U.S. authorities say the incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania.
Police confirmed that the matter stemmed from a domestic dispute.
According to a report by abc27.com, first responders rushed the woman to hospital after the incident.
She is said to be in stable condition, and police stressed that there was no threat to the general public at any point.
Mr Nortey, aged 41 and a resident of Harrisburg, has been charged with attempted homicide, possession of an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Court records indicate that he was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied him bail.
