The Fosu Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta, custodians of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, widely known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a firm caution to all individuals and parties attempting to make claims or take possession of his properties.
In a statement released through their solicitors, the family warned that no one is permitted to sell, access, or occupy any of the late musician’s assets until the official administration and fair distribution of his estate are completed.
“All his properties form part of his estate, which the family — together with the children and their mothers — shall work together to ensure fair distribution to all who are entitled to benefit,” the statement said.
The family also revealed that Daddy Lumba left written instructions detailing how his funeral, burial, and estate management should be carried out, and they intend to strictly adhere to his wishes.
They urged all parties, particularly his estranged wife Akosua Serwah Fosuh, to cooperate peacefully with the family to ensure a dignified farewell for the late musician.
“To avoid any unproductive litigation among the family and children that may result in shame for the dead, the Fosu family is open to peaceful discussions,” the statement noted. “But until then, let all persons stay away from the properties.”
Estranged wife accused of abandonment
The caution follows recent letters and claims reportedly made by Akosua Serwah, who resides in Germany, regarding the late artist’s estate and funeral arrangements.
The Fosu family alleged that Akosua Serwah abandoned Daddy Lumba over a decade ago when he fell ill and had no involvement in his care or personal affairs thereafter.
They added that Akosua Serwah had presented customary drinks to signify the dissolution of her marriage to the musician — an act that, under Akan custom, officially ends a marriage once accepted by the family.
Family recognises Odo Broni as legitimate wife
The statement also confirmed that Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, who lived with Daddy Lumba for over 15 years until his passing, is recognised by the family as his legitimate wife.
“It is our clear instruction to state that Odo Broni is a recognised wife of the late Daddy Lumba, and same is acknowledged by the Fosu Royal Family,” the lawyers affirmed.
The Fosu Royal Family reiterated its commitment to handling all matters concerning Daddy Lumba’s funeral and estate in a lawful, transparent, and culturally appropriate manner, urging the public to respect their authority and the late musician’s legacy.
