The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested four individuals in connection with the killing of the Akwamuhene of Tanoso in the Bono East Region.
The suspects, identified as Issifu Addae (also known as Akwasi Addae), Stephen Gyamfi, Augustine Arhinful, and Martha Mansah, are currently in custody assisting with investigations. Police say four more individuals linked to the incident have been declared persons of interest and are being actively pursued.
Initial findings suggest the late chief had been destooled but allegedly refused to accept the decision, resulting in prolonged disputes and several legal battles with his family.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that efforts to track down the remaining suspects are underway, with the CID leading a full-scale investigation into the murder.
Further updates are expected as the probe progresses.
