Four dead, 20 others injured after truck runs over jubilant NPP supporters

At least four persons are feared dead Friday evening after a Kia truck ran over NPP supporters while they were jubilating at the declaration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as winner of the 2016 elections.

The death toll could go up as 20 persons who are seriously injured and are in critical condition were immediately rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital for medical treatment.

There is no immediate word for the cause of the accident.

Elsewhere in the Ashanti Region, reports said two persons were also knocked down by a car while jubilating in the capital of Kumasi.

Nana Addo polled over 5, 716,026 million votes to beat the incumbent president John Dramani Mahama who had over 4, 713,277 million votes.
