The Ghana Police Service has promoted four officers from the Western Central Regional Command in recognition of their exceptional professionalism, diligence, and dedication to duty.
The promoted officers are: No. 47459 G/Sgt. Fetus Gameli Kukuia, now elevated to Inspector, No. 52192 G/Cpl. Christian Asare, promoted to Sergeant, No. 52441 G/Cpl. Nicholas Kingsley Amoah, promoted to Sergeant, and No. 59947 G/Const. Adam Yakubu, promoted to Lance Corporal.
Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the officers and emphasised that the promotions are part of ongoing efforts to recognise and reward excellence in policing.
The promotions follow the officers’ instrumental role in the arrest of three armed suspects Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab at the Bawdie Barrier near Wassa Akropong on April 30, 2025.
The arrests came just a day after the brutal murder of five individuals at Asiyaw, near Nsawam.
During a routine search of a Grand Bird Bus (registration AS 4431-22), the officers discovered a submachine gun and 21 rounds of ammunition in the possession of Hakeem Imoro.
Further interrogation revealed that the weapon belonged to Imoro’s superior, Samuel Atsu Forson, also known as Alanyo, who had already been arrested in connection with the Asiyaw killings.
Subsequent investigations confirmed that the suspects were attempting to flee the jurisdiction and were directly linked to the Asiyaw murders.
The Ghana Police Service praised the officers for their vigilance and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism through continuous recognition of outstanding service.
