I stand with the residents of Adenta and Madina.
The needless deaths are a reminder of how evil politicians are when it comes to procuring essential services for tax labouring citizens.
Every road defect is a 10% kickback in the pocket of the politician. Never mind that the project costs are ballooned.
All the airports built by the previous government are candidates that failed the value for money tests just as the police housing project and almost all the projects by the Special Development Ministry under the current administration are way out the roof.
It is about time as citizens, we prevent such carnage in all facets of our infrastructure life. Instead of nodding aimlessly to slogans of Infrastructure this, poverty alleviation that, one this, one that , let us band together to request all contract details from the public procurement authority and support groups like IMANI to do a thorough assessment not just for value for money but for compliance to basic tenets of decent and humane habitation.
Point I am making is that we should never wait for another round of murderous and inflated infrastructure projects to be erected before we charge, because frankly, when the avoidable deaths come, they really do not discriminate between NDC and NPP.
May the painful deaths of the early departed on the Adenta-Madina highway and all other such infrastructure be a scar on the consciences of every complicit bureaucrat and politician.
We must trace and punish all of them. Then again, I am dreaming because it will take court battles to get information if ever, all under our lovers of freedom and democracy.
