Ghana Football Association Executive Council Member, Frederick Acheampong, has firmly rebutted accusations made by former Ghana youth star Ransford Osei, who claimed he provided $20,000 to secure a spot in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Black Stars squad, alleging mismanagement of the funds by Acheampong.
In response, Acheampong expressed profound shock at what he deems baseless claims by Osei.
He unequivocally denies any wrongdoing and challenges Osei to furnish evidence of the alleged transaction. Acheampong cautioned that if Osei fails to substantiate his claims, legal action, including defamation charges, will be pursued.
Former Marketing and Communications Director of Kessben FC, Acheampong, stressed his dedication to professionalism in supporting Osei's football career during their association.
He argues that Osei's career challenges should not be attributed to external factors.
Osei, in an extensive interview with Doc Royal Sports, revealed that Acheampong advised him to utilize the money to gain favor with influential football figures, securing his spot in the World Cup squad.
Despite complying and transferring the funds, Osei alleges that the promised arrangements were unfulfilled, leading to the decline of his football career.
Acheampong refutes Osei's assertions, maintaining that he neither solicited nor received $20,000 from Osei for any purpose.
He challenges Osei to present evidence or issue a retraction and apology for the malicious allegations.
