French Ligue 1 side, Toulouse Football Club have announced the signing of Ghanaian international Abu Francis from Belgian outfit, Cercle Brugge.
The 24-year old combative midfielder has completed the imminent move from the city of Brugges to Toulouse in France as the French Ligue 1 side seek to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming 2025-2026 football season. The Ghanaian midfielder arrived in Toulouse on Monday, August 4 2025 to complete the move as he underwent all medicals and completed all documentations in a deal worth around 2.6 million Euros.

The former Right To Dream Academy midfielder signed a deal that will see him ply his trade with the French outfit until June 2030. After two seasons with Belgium Pro League side Cercle Brugge, the enterprising midfielder will be spending the next five years on the cards of the "Les Violets" in France.

In his first words after joining the French side, the Ghanaian midfielder relished his excitement and his readiness for the upcoming challenge:
"Looking forward to starting this new challenge and joining this family"
Abu is set to wear the number 17 shirt for Toulouse Football Club in the upcoming football season.
Abu Francis reached a monumental milestone with Cercle Brugge in their final game of last season in the relegation playoffs which they survived- the midfielder played his 100th game for the Belgium outfit as he recorded three goals and seven assists during his time with the club, partnering compatriot, Lawrence Agyekum in the heart of midfield for the Belgium club.
The 24 year old joined FC Nordsjaelland from Right To Dream Academy in 2019, announcing his presence in Europe as one of the emerging midfield gems from Ghana.
He has been capped four times for the Black Stars of Ghana as he made his debut in March 2024 when Ghana drew Uganda in a friendly game. He has gone on to represent the nation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad in the emphatic 5-0 victory and the crucial 3-0 victory over Madagascar as well as the Unity Cup in London in May 2025.
