In a heartfelt gesture of recognition, the Ghana National Ex Goalkeepers Union has honoured Accra Hearts of Oak’s rising star Benjamin Asare for his outstanding form in the 2024/25 season.

The brief but emotional ceremony was held at the Sunlodge Hotel, with former Ashgold goalkeeper Adjei Agyeman leading the charge.

It was a moment of pride and inspiration, as some of Ghana’s finest former shot-stoppers gathered to applaud one of their own.

Asare, who joined Hearts of Oak this season, has been a revelation between the sticks—racking up 16 clean sheets with three games still left to play. His commanding presence in goal hasn’t gone unnoticed, earning him a well-deserved call-up to the Black Stars squad.

What makes Asare’s journey even more remarkable is the consistency he’s shown over the years. Just last season, he finished with the same number of clean sheets while playing for Accra Great Olympics.

Two stellar campaigns in a row have cemented his reputation as one of the top goalkeepers in the Ghana Premier League.

The Union’s recognition wasn’t just about statistics—it was about celebrating a goalkeeper who embodies hard work, growth, and resilience.

Many in attendance, including former national team goalkeepers, expressed their admiration for Asare and urged him to continue pushing for greatness.
