Consumers are enjoying some relief at the pumps as fuel prices dropped on Friday, January 16, 2026.

Petrol prices fell from GH¢10.99 to GH¢9.99 per litre, representing a full GH¢1 reduction, while diesel declined from GH¢11.96 to GH¢11.21 per litre, a 75-pesewa cut.

The new prices, reflected in the Ghana Oil Company (GOIL) rates, come amid a strengthening Ghana cedi against major foreign currencies, particularly the US dollar.

For motorists, the reduction means lower costs to fill their tanks, potentially freeing up income for other expenses. Transport operators may also pass on some of the relief to passengers through reduced fares.

New GOIL Fuel Prices:

  • SUPER XP: GH¢9.99

  • DIESEL XP: GH¢11.21

  • SUPER XP 95: GH¢13.97
