A fuel tanker has overturned and exploded at Potsin Junction, with flames spreading to a nearby house.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, March 17, 2026, when the tanker reportedly lost control and fell on its side along the busy Kasoa–Winneba Highway.
According to eyewitnesses, the tanker spilled large quantities of fuel onto the road, which quickly ignited, triggering a massive blaze that spread to a house close to the scene.
Residents in the area were thrown into panic as the flames rapidly engulfed parts of the surroundings, raising fears for the safety of people living nearby.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service have since moved in to contain the situation. Firefighters secured nearby buildings before launching efforts to attack the main blaze.
Emergency response teams are yet to release official information regarding possible casualties or the full extent of damage caused by the explosion.
Authorities say further updates will be provided as firefighters continue operations to bring the fire under control and ensure the area is safe.
