President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that the country is steadily emerging from the economic and social hardships it faced a year ago, declaring that “Ghana is rising again.”

In his New Year message delivered on January 1, 2026, from the Jubilee House, the President said twelve months of reforms and prudent economic management have begun to restore stability, confidence and hope across the nation.

President Mahama urged Ghanaians to rise above partisan politics and embrace a shared national identity, stressing that sustainable progress can only be achieved through unity, mutual respect and collective nation-building, not political division.

He highlighted the gains made under the government’s internationally recognised Reset Agenda, noting that it is helping to rebuild trust in Ghana’s democratic system while strengthening accountability, transparency and good governance.

Looking ahead, the President outlined an ambitious roadmap for 2026, signalling a faster pace of reforms and development programmes aimed at:

  • Expanding social protection

  • Transforming the economy

  • Deepening and consolidating democratic governance

According to President Mahama, the administration’s focus on recovery, unity, accountability and reform underscores its commitment to building a more resilient, inclusive and prosperous Ghana for all citizens.
