Ghanaian winger Mohammed Fuseini Gadafi scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday night, finding the net for Royal Union Saint-Gilloise in their league encounter against Charleroi.
The 23-year-old’s strike capped an emotional return after a difficult start to the campaign. Fuseini had been sidelined for months by a serious injury that ruled him out of the early part of the season, disrupting momentum built during a memorable previous year.
Last season, he played his part as Union Saint-Gilloise clinched the Belgian league title, cementing his growing reputation in European football. But the new campaign began in frustration, as injury kept him watching from the sidelines.
Now back to full fitness, Fuseini has wasted little time reminding supporters of his quality. In recent weeks, he made his UEFA Champions League debut against Bayern Munich, a significant milestone in his young career before adding his first club goal of the season against Charleroi last night.
His most recent goal before Wednesday night came on 31 May 2025, when he scored for Ghana in the Black Stars’ 4–0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the Unity Cup.
For Fuseini, the latest strike represents more than just a statistic. It signals resilience, recovery and a renewed push to rediscover the form that made him a champion in Belgium and a rising name for both club and country.
