Danish Superliga club Aalborg BK (AaB) has officially announced the signing of 17-year-old Ghanaian talent Gabriel Quartey.
The promising attacker will join the club in January 2025, when he turns 18, after signing a four-year deal from Ghana's Givova Sporting Academy.
Quartey caught the eye of AaB's coaches during a successful trial period, showcasing his potential with both the senior Superliga squad and the U19 team.
"Gabriel Quartey has shown himself well in training with both the Superliga squad and the U/19 League team, and we can see some top skills that he can hopefully further develop and display in the coming years in AaB," said James Gow, the club's Sporting Director.
Describing the young Ghanaian’s qualities, Gow added:
"Gabriel is fast and mobile, skilled one-on-one, and can finish with both feet. He is also an aggressive pressure player.
Additionally, he already knows European culture after a stay in England, where he acquired fine language skills."
Quartey, who begins his AaB career with the U19 squad, will have the opportunity to hone his skills and adapt to the European style of play as part of his development.
The move reflects Aalborg BK’s commitment to nurturing young talent and integrating them into their system.
Quartey’s combination of technical ability, tactical awareness, and adaptability makes him a promising prospect for the future.
