After missing out on names like Gyokeres and Liam Delap who is now on the verge of joining Chelsea FC, Manchester United have turned their attention to Cameroonian international and Brentford talisman, Bryan Mbeumo.
The 25 -year-old attacker who has spent more than half a decade at the London outfit is seen as a befitting candidate to assist in turning Manchester United's fortunes around after a rather atrocious campaign in the just ended season.
Bryan Mbeumo had a stellar season as he netted a whopping twenty (20) goals and provided eight (8) assists in the just ended Premier League campaign; eleven (11) more goals and two (2) more assists better than the previous season.
When asked about what he makes of Manchester United’s moves for Cunha and Mbeumo, Neville told Sky Sports, as reported by The Metro: “They need players who are going to come in and hit the ground running.
“United has become a very difficult place for new signings to operate in recent years. Cunha and Mbeumo have Premier League experience, they’ve got plenty of games under their belts — it’s not new to them
“They’re the right type as well because when I watch the United wide players under Ruben Amorim, they have to get from box to box quickly and travel with and without the ball at pace.
“Cunha and Mbeumo both do that. The players who are going to leave United are more jinkers and play in smaller spaces.”
The record twenty (20) time Premier League winners ended the 2024-2025 season in an abysmal fashion as they finished 15th in the Premiership and missing out on a possible UEFA Champions League place for the upcoming season as they lost the Europa League final to compatriots, Tottenham Hotspur.
