The board of the Ghana Boxing Authority yesterday visited Emmanuel Tagoe aka Game Boy at the Second Out Gym as he prepares to face South African boxer Mzonke Fana on Friday December 2 at the Bukom Boxing Arena aka the Trust Emporium in Accra.

The board led by its President, Lawyer Peter Zwennes presented some energizing items including crates of eggs and Vital Milk to Tagoe and advised him to be disciplined in the ring and go for glory for Ghana.

The GBA President said Tagoe is a durable boxer and well-conditioned with a positive attitude who can make Ghana great, thus he has much confidence in him to win the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight title.

Lawyer Zwennes continued that now that the World Boxing Association (WBA) has rated Tagoe among the Top 8 and he is perched at 7th, the World Boxing Council (WBC) will also rate him and sooner or later he can at any time be in the Top 4, or among the Best Pound for Pound, or Most Exciting Fighter and then become a record triple world champion.

Among the GBA entourage were Mr. Rabbon Dodoo, 2ndVice President, Patrick Johnson, General Secretary and Naa Darkua Dodoo, PRO.

Tagoe currently holds the WBA International title plus eight other continental belts, however he wants to hit the ultimate before he can call himself a world champion.

Mzonke Fana, The Rose of Khayelitsha has held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Super Featherweight, WBC International Super Featherweight champion and South African Super Featherweight Champion.

He has fought 38 times, losing 10 of them. Born on 1973-10-29 (Age:43) His Birthplace is Qumbu, Eastern Cape, South AfricaHis Hometown is Khayelitsha, Western Cape, South Africa.

Tagoe from James Town, British Accra said this is the year of glory for Ghana Boxing and he will give Ghanaians a present with the IBO title, which is also the beginning of greater things to come.

He thanked Black Stars Skipper, Asamoah Gyan for managing and turning up his life.

The Big Fight on Friday has been labeled Fight of Destiny and some fine musicians have been invited to entertain fans. They include Tinny, Wisa, Nii Funny, Kweisy Pee, Stone Bowy and Becca.

Gate Fees have been pegged at 20ghc for Students and Special Bukom Fans, 50ghc for Popular Stand and 150ghc for the VIP. The organisers have created a corporate side that goes for 150ghc.

Boxing fans will have much to cheer as there will be some exciting supporting bouts.
