Gelson Fernandes, the Director of Member Associations for Africa at FIFA, has arrived in Tamale for the GFA Elective Congress, scheduled for Thursday.
He is accompanied by Silmara Sousa, Development Program Coordinator, FIFA Member Associations Africa, and Ahmed Harraz, Senior Manager FIFA Member Associations Governance Services, FIFA Member Association Governance.
The trio arrived in Accra on Tuesday and touched down in Tamale on Wednesday morning in preparation for the congress on Thursday.
The Ghana Football Association will hold elections on Thursday, October 5, 2023, to select new executives to lead the association for the next four years.
Delegates will vote for positions including President, representatives of the Premier League, and Division One League, with Dr. Gifty Oware Mensah running unopposed for the position of Women's Football representative on the Executive Council.
The election process will take place in the 10 regions, where regional delegates will elect their Chairmen, and two will be chosen to serve on the Executive Council.
