Ex-Germany international Gerald Asamoah has been appointed the new team manager for German Bundesliga side Schalke 04.

The Ghanaian was confirmed on Saturday after the club announced that Veteran Dutch coach Huub Stevens and Mike Büskens will be in charge for the rest of the season.

Stevens was presented on Friday, a day after Schalke 04 dismissed Domenico Tedesco.

“We will play with this constellation until the end of the season,” Schalke 04 sports director Jochen Schneider said.

The 33-year-old Tedesco led Schalke 04 to the runners-up spot last season but the team is now languishing 14th in the table.
