The Ghana Education Service (GES) has summoned all its Regional and District Directors across the country to Accra for a meeting over the implementation of the Double Track system in senior high schools set to be operational in September.

The meeting is scheduled to come off today Monday, a day ahead of the Minister of Education Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh holds a media briefing on the new policy.

GES Public Relations Officer, Cassandra Twum Ampofo said; “Whatever policy that concerns pre-tertiary education it’s our mandate as Ghana Education Service to ensure that its implementation becomes a success. We as GES are also meeting them[Regional and District Directors] to strategize as to how we can implement double track policy to a successful end.”

Meanwhile the Education Ministry has stated that the recruits enrolled on government’s Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo) programme will serve as a pool to recruit new teachers to feed the double track system.

Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Ekow Vincent Assafuah made the revelation, Monday, assuring, there will be no hurdles to recruit new teachers before the new academic year begins in September.

“About 43,000 teachers registered for the NaBCo programme so there’s no difficulty to get new recruits for the double track policy,” Mr Assafuah told Roland Walker on the AM Show on the Joy News channel on Multi TV Monday.
