The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fined Real Tamale United FC (RTU FC) GHc100,000 for actions that tarnish the reputation of the sport, violating Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations.

The penalty comes after the committee determined that during the Matchday 28 game against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams, RTU FC deliberately misled match officials by fielding unregistered players who impersonated registered team members.

RTU FC admitted to the charges and requested leniency, explaining that they were in a challenging situation, with their registered players refusing to travel.

The club's defense stated that officials believed their actions were necessary to mitigate the difficult circumstances faced by the team.

Despite this plea, the GFA Disciplinary Committee found RTU FC guilty of misconduct and imposed the fine.

Additionally, the officials responsible for the match have each received a one-year ban from all football-related activities, effective immediately.

The officials banned are Iddi Manzah Alhassan, Abdul-Samed Iddrisu, Abdul-Gafaru Salifu, Tanko Jentumah, and Sylvester Yaw Apanka.
