Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has lauded the KGL Group for their substantial financial support in sponsoring the Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship.

This championship has been a vital platform for discovering the next generation of Ghanaian football talents.

The KGL Group, through its Foundation, has committed one million US dollars over five years to fund the Colts talent identification Championship.

Now in its fourth year, the championship has played a crucial role in producing top talents for national teams and domestic clubs.

President Simeon-Okraku, who attended Tuesday's Group A matches of the 2024 Championship at the GFA Technical Centre in Prampram alongside FIFA officials, praised the KGL Group for their significant financial contributions to Colts Clubs across Ghana's ten football regions.

"First of all, I'm very appreciative of the quantum of investment from KGL group.

The support from the KGL Foundation, led by Chairman Alex, has been an amazing blessing to Colts football in our country.

Investing a million US dollars over five years towards the development of Colts football is something one ought to be very happy about," President Simeon-Okraku stated.

While commending the KGL Group for their immense financial support, President Simeon-Okraku also emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability within the GFA.

"I would say kudos to the entire family of KGL. I think that it's also a confirmation of their trust and belief in the leadership of football in our country.

We have been very clear and we are very transparent in accounting for every dollar they have invested: Just like we have been very transparent with all corporate entities who have been part of our journey since 2019," he added.

"Working in trust with corporate Ghana is always the way to go. Once they believe in what you do, they trust that you will use and apply their resources judiciously as you promised.

They will always come on board. KGL is one of those who absolutely believe in the leadership of the FA and the development of football, thus offering opportunities to young kids."

He further highlighted the importance of investing in youth for the future of Ghanaian football.

"The future of our country depends on our youth. We are growing every day. We need people to take over the mantle. And to do that, you need to create opportunities, you need to invest, and you need to give them a clear vision.

This is definitely what the Football Association, your Football Association, is all about," he concluded.

The KGL Foundation U17 Inter-Regional Colts Championship has significantly impacted the development of Ghanaian football since its inception four years ago, providing a steady stream of talent for national youth teams and domestic clubs.
