Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has lauded the Beach Soccer team, the Black Sharks, for their impressive showing at the 2024 Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cairo, Egypt.
The team recently returned to Ghana, placing 5th overall—their best finish to date, having previously placed 7th in the 2015 and 2016 editions.
During a courtesy visit to the GFA Secretariat on October 28, the players and officials were warmly received by the GFA President, who commended their performance and expressed pride in their efforts.
Ghana's top scorer, Alexander Adjei, and goalkeeper, Robert Nyadedzor, presented their individual awards to President Simeon-Okraku as a symbol of their success.
“We are proud of your achievements. Your hard work and determination have not gone unnoticed.
This experience will serve as a valuable lesson for us moving forward,” President Simeon-Okraku remarked, expressing his appreciation for the team’s dedication and promising continued support for the sport's growth in Ghana.
With eyes set on future competitions, the Black Sharks are determined to build on this achievement and continue to rise in the ranks of African beach soccer.
