Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has met key football stakeholders in the Upper West Region, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the game at grassroots level.
Okraku was in Wa on Monday, where he held an open forum with club owners, chief executives, match commissioners, technical officials, senior referees and youth referees under the “Catch Them Young” initiative. The engagement also included other figures involved in football development across the region.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the GFA president described the discussions as open and productive, noting that stakeholders offered “thoughtful and insightful feedback” on the association’s programmes since he assumed office in 2019.
He said the meeting reinforced the importance of constant dialogue and partnership in developing football from its foundations, particularly in regions where grassroots structures play a crucial role in talent identification.
Okraku expressed appreciation to participants for their commitment and passion for the game, assuring them of the GFA’s continued support.
“The Ghana Football Association will continue to work shoulder-to-shoulder with them as we pursue our ultimate goal of building a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable football ecosystem for the benefit of our people,” he said.
The visit forms part of broader efforts by the GFA to engage directly with regional football stakeholders and ensure development initiatives reflect local realities and needs.
