The Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo, has addressed reports of a court injunction on the start of the 2023/24 league season, expressing the association's readiness to respond to the legal challenge.

Mark Addo stated that the GFA is not overly concerned about the injunction, and its legal team is prepared to address the matter in court.

He emphasized that the GFA remains focused on the official commencement of the new Ghana Premier League season.

Speaking to Akoma FM in an interview, he said the GFA remains focused on the official start of the new Ghana Premier League season.

“The plaintiff who filed the injunction is already expelled so I don't know on what basis or locus the injunction was being filed and on whose behalf. I am not too worried about it and the FA will respond to it in Court accordingly,” Mark Addo said.

Regarding the plaintiff who filed the injunction, Addo mentioned that the individual had already been expelled, raising questions about the basis and legitimacy of the injunction.

Despite the legal challenge, he maintained his confidence in the direction of Ghanaian football.

“I am just focused on the path and the level we want to push Ghana football to. For these things (court injunction), everybody has the right to go to court if they feel their rights are been infringed upon but I'm not too worried about it.  We remain focused on the bigger picture and Isha Allah it will be well.”

Mark Addo highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the GFA in recent years to enhance and expand the league, emphasizing the association's commitment to advancing Ghanaian football.

The new Ghana Premier League season is set to kick off on Friday, September 15, with a match between Hearts of Oak and Real Tamale United.

Despite the legal obstacles, the GFA remains focused on its efforts to elevate the league and improve the state of football in Ghana.
