Kudjoe Fianoo, Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), has openly criticized Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku, urging him to either resign or forgo seeking a third term in office.

Fianoo’s remarks come in the wake of the Black Stars’ poor performances in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and broader administrative challenges within Ghanaian football.

Ghana’s chances of qualifying for AFCON 2025 are slim after failing to secure a win in their first four group matches, drawing two and losing two, including a recent 2-0 defeat to Sudan in Benghazi, Libya.

In an interview with Akoma FM in Kumasi, Fianoo, the former CEO of AshantiGold SC, expressed his belief that Kurt Okraku’s leadership is no longer suitable for Ghanaian football, calling for the GFA president to step down after his current term.

"Kurt Okraku should resign, or better yet, fulfill his second term and then leave without seeking a third term," Fianoo stated.

The Black Stars are set to regroup next month to face Angola and Niger in their final two qualifiers, as they attempt to salvage their campaign.
